FP Journe ends the 38mm cases with an astonishing set of 5 very special watches in stainless steel (with price)

Boys, please don’t cry… It’s actual I’m apprehensive that the authentic 38mm cases from FP Journe won’t ever exist any longer. The size that authorities have appreciated for quite a long time and that was the image of style and excellence is no more. Nonetheless, behind this (kind of) sensational declaration conceals probably the most ideal piece of information, in light of the fact that François-Paul Journe just chose to commend this end with a re-birth, the profit from the market of several stopped references with developments you’ll never see any longer. With this set of 5 watches in STEEL (indeed, that as well… ), FP Journe offer perhaps the most stunning blessings to its fans.

For FP Journe, the journey of wristwatches began at Baselword 1991, where he acquainted its first watch with be worn on the wrist (a few pocket watches preceded the wristwatches), a Tourbillon with Remontoire d’Egalité (such a steady power gadget) in a 38mm platinum case. This watch was exceptionally uncommon around then, as watches used to gauge between 33mm and 36mm. It was gigantic on the grounds that the development required it. From that point forward, the 38mm case (and its shape) was meaningful of the brand. Obviously, FP Journe developed, concerning model in 2001, with the 42mm Grande Sonnerie – that drove the brand to likewise offer watches measured at 42mm in the remainder of the assortment. For quite a long time, you could pick watches at 38mm and some at 42mm. Things changed in 2013 with the Chronomètre Optimum ( that we assessed and clarified here ). The complexity of the development needed to move to a case measure at least 40mm – and hence to a watch just accessible in 40mm or in 42mm. Same goes for the new Octa Lune . Structure now on, this will be the standard at FP Journe.

Instead of making bitterness, FP Journe chose to satisfy authorities (and there is a great deal of them around the world) with a festival, a set of 5 watches (obviously estimating 38mm) and produced in hardened steel. What an all around decent thought! To this, François-Paul adds 2 different highlights. The first is a remarkable tone for the dials, made of strong gold (obviously), hand guilloché (normally) and in a patinated bronze tone. The second novel angle is that 4 of the 5 watches you’ll find in the set are suspended ones, watches (or developments) that the brand didn’t manufacture for quite a while, consequently making a legitimate exceptional box.

The watches remembered for the set are:

  • The FP Journe Tourbillon Souverain

The watch in this set is the more established (and first) edition of the Tourbillon with Remontoir d’Egalité made by FP Journe. It was produced using 1999 to 2003, with a metal development and an opening at 6 showing the steady power gadget. The cutting edge one (you can see it here ) highlights a little second pointer at 6 and a development made in strong gold (like all the advanced watches made by Journe).

What we found in the set is, as said, the more established edition (in steel and in 38mm) that currently includes the strong rose gold development, making it a first and genuinely remarkable watch (the Tourbillon Souverain old edition never existed in steel and with a gold movement).

  • The FP Journe Chronomètre à Résonance

(on the photograph underneath, left side) As with the Tourbillon, FP Journe decided to re-alter one of his symbolic watch, the Chronomètre à Resonance, in its unique arrangement (delivered from 2000 to 2009), with the balanced dials. The new edition (obvious here ) highlights an advanced pointer and an analogical one, while the old edition highlights two independent analogical displays.

It comes obviously with the strong gold development and a 38mm case in steel.

  • The FP Journe Octa Automatique

(on the photograph above, right side) The FP Journe Octa Automatique was the absolute first automatic watch created by Journe, with a 120-hour power-hold and an enormous date. This watch, delivered from 2002 to 2014, is presently back for a final run with this 38mm steel case.

  • The FP Journe Octa Calendrier Annuel

(on the photograph beneath, left side) Same thought than the one preceding, the yearly schedule watch by FP Journe depends on the Octa and consequently includes a 120-hour power-save automatic development. The FP Journe Octa Calendrier Annuel was delivered from 2003 to 2014 (and was the success of the brand).

  • The FP Journe Chronomètre Souverain

(on the photograph above, right side) Even if this watch is as yet in the inventory ( and even got some new dials as of late ), it was troublesome not to have it in this commemorative set of watches, as unmistakably, it is THE seal of the brand. Created since 2005, it shows an eminent hand-wound development and comes without precedent for steel with this bronze dial.

The set of 5 watches in tempered steel and bronze dials to commemorate the finish of the 38mm cases is restricted to 38 pieces and priced at CHF 268,000. Presently it will be intriguing to stand by a couple of years and to see the aftereffect of these 38mm watches during barters, both for single watches of for this set, that will without a doubt, break records.
