Just before this year’s SIHH began we got the opportunity to plunk down with Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Montblanc. We’re conversing with him about the third new assortment that the brand dispatched since he joined the assembling, in July of 2013, the coordination of the two Montblanc makes and the fresh out of the plastic new e-Strap that was dispatched on January first of this current year.
As of July 2013 Jérôme Lambert joined the German extravagance brand and promptly you could feel there was another person at the helm. In the 1,5 years he has been with Montblanc, they have dispatched three completely new assortment: last year’s Meisterstück Heritage assortment (which has been renamed to Heritage Spirit assortment as of this current year), the Bohème assortment and the new Heritage Chronométrie assortment that we’re covering (widely) during nowadays, live from the SIHH.
Another thing that astounded me effectively a year ago, was to see an initial move towards incorporating the two Montblanc fabricates in Le Locle and Villeret. Two completely different, which are being joined now, and furthermore the Montblanc calfskin atelier in Florence, Italy, is being associated with Montblanc’s watchmaking business, and now they are conveying the cowhide lashes for the Heritage Chronométrie assortment (among others). The brand is moving, and numerous things are occurring behind the screens. Normally we simply will see the new assortments, however since there’s so much going on we’ll going to cover that in another meeting, with Montblanc’s head of watch, Alexander Schmiedt.
