Pre-Baselworld 2015 – Chopard L.U.C Regulator – Specs and Price

Chopard is a brand time after time seen as a jeweler or a creator of simple ladies watches. In any case, in the scope of watches, there is collection that we, at Monochrome-Watches, especially acclaim. The Chopard L.U.C timepieces are all manufactured in-house with an exceptional consideration regarding details and superb completions . The latest of them is to be revealed at Baselworld 2015 and it’s called the Chopard L.U.C Regulator.

The Chopard L.U.C Regulator is, as its name suggests, displaying time in a regulator way, which means two isolated indications for the hours and the minuted. The Chopard L.U.C Regulator anyway features something beyond this specific display, as it also comes with a GMT function, a date, a small second-sub dial and a force hold indicator. Quite a loaded dial you may think, but legibility remains extremely good.

The sun-burst silver dial comes has no less than 6 indications: on the central hub we can discover the minutes, with a large hand and a minute-track around the dial (classical layout for a regulator), at 3 comes the indication of the hours, at 4:30 is the date window, at 6 sits the small-second, at 9 is the 24-hour second time-region (that can be adjusted independently with a pusher at 8) and, finally, at 12 we can discover the force hold gauge. All the indications are anyway easily recognizable and the legibility stays pleasant. The dial is certainly loaded but has a clean, elegant look.

The Chopard L.U.C Regulator comes in a large 43mm case – 2mm or 3mm would have been welcome – but the thickness is still reasonable at 9.8mm. The case is made of 18k rose gold, alternating with polished surfaces (on the bezel and the highest point of the lugs) and vertically brushed surfaces looking into the issue groups. The Chopard L.U.C Regulator comes on an alligator lash (also lined with alligator skin) stitched by hand, with a 18 rose gold pin-buckle.

The development of the Chopard L.U.C Regulator brings quite its load of horological pleasantness. Along with its complicated display, it also features a long 216 hours (9 days) power-hold, due to the Quattro® technology, which means 4 barrels. Indeed, even with such a force, the calibre L.U.C 98.02-L has contained extents – 30.4mm x 4.90mm. This development is also precise, as it comes with a C.O.S.C chronometer certification.

The finish of this development is also noteworthy, as it is stepped with the Geneva Hallmark, the assurance that all the pieces are done with the most significant level of details. The primary plate is circular-grained and the extensions are decorated with Geneva stripes and chamfered by hand, with polished beveled angles. Because of the 4 barrel, the development doesn’t show a lot from its technicality but its details stays very pleasant.

The Chopard L.U.C Regulator is priced at 27.970 Euros.
